On Saturday, February 21st, a group of 32 “Wilber Warriors” made their way out to Miller Park Lake in Bloomington, IL. for an icy, polar bear plunge adventure. Participants dressed up with their sweatshirts, bandanas and face paint and jumped into the freezing waters in order to raise money for Special Olympics Illinois.
Kristi Loyer and “The Fun Committee” organized the event for the Wilber employees and reminded us that taking part in this great cause hits close to home. Brooklyn, Jennifer Sutter’s daughter, is a participant in the Special Olympics on the basketball and track field teams. It was great to see our Wilber family showing our support for her and the Special Olympics as a whole.
The water was cold and it took your breath away, but the event was well worth the effort. With everyone’s help at Wilber, we raised $350.00 for the cause and we look forward to taking the plunge again next year.
